ALI's generate a serial data stream then sent to the DDV display driver boards.
The ALI-53xx and ALI-106xx use DSP engines programmed to output display data for the DDV-53 or -106 display drivers (one pair of audio channels). The "A" versions (e.g. ALI-53A) have analog input; the "D" versions are AES/EBU input.
Various "ballistic" and scale characteristics are possible, including multiple simultaneous display modes (e.g. a PPM "dot" over a VU "bar"). A program for displaying three different parameters simultaneously with separate red, yellow, and green segments is under development. Input modules for the 26 and 25-segment bargraphs are under development.
The modules require only +5VDC power. Interconnection with the DDV-53 or -106 display driver modules requires only simple serial data and clock lines (and optional brightness control line.).
